Lots of different factors determine the value of your plate, such as age, length, desirability etc. Make sure to do your own research to gauge a realistic valuation search the internet for similar plates, fewer similar plates that are available will increase the value.

Before the internet was born, people sold their plates in the Classified sections of newspapers and Magazines (some do still offer this service), but with limited numbers of readership the exposure your plate receives will be minimal.

The time it takes to sell will again depend on how appealing it is to the buyer. For example your own initials, dates etc will only be appropriate to those who have the same as yours.
